{Extra} Crispy Asian Tofu Designed by award-winning Dr. Constable, our food balances blood sugars to promote more energy, weight loss and optimal health.
Ingredients
1 Tbsp coconut aminos
1 Tbsp tapioca starch
1 Tbsp nutritional yeast
1/2 Tbsp sesame oil
1 package of tofu, 16oz (firm or extra firm)
Salt, to taste
How to prepare
-Press tofu for apprx. 15 minutes. To do this, take the tofu out of container and cut evenly into blocks that are about one inch thick. Place the tofu in between two kitchen towels. Place a heavy item on top of the kitchen towels – such as a cutting board – to remove excess water. (Here is an example of how to press tofu)
- While you are pressing the tofu, prep the cooking tray with parchment paper, and preheat the over to 400.
- Mix all remaining ingredients together to make the marinade. Mix until smooth.
- Cut the tofu into one inch squares and gently toss in the marinade. Place onto the lined cooking tray, making sure that the cubes do not touch. Bake for 18-25 minutes, or until crispy.
- Let cool, add a sprinkle of salt, and enjoy!
Tips & tricks
*
This recipe pairs well with miracle noodles, roasted veggies, and stir frys such as broccoli, snow peas, and onions.
*
To batch cook, simply 2x or 3x the recipe as desired. In order to ensure the tofu cubes get crispy, be sure to maintain the same ratio of marinade to tofu and don’t skip the tapioca starch.
